Ça, messires est un chant de Noël traditionnel, ici présenté dans une harmonisation de J.-G. Turcotte.

Joseph-Gers Turcotte (1887-1975), après des études en droit, est ordonné prêtre en 1910. Il complète des études en chant sacré à Rome et devient maître de chapelle au Séminaire et à la Cathédrale de Trois-Rivières. Il entretient une longue correspondance avec le pianiste Alfred Laliberté, dont il partage l'admiration pour le musicien russe Nicolas Medtner. Soutenu par Laliberté, l'abbé Turcotte est à l'origine (sous le pseudonyme de « Guido ») d'un débat acerbe contre Léo-Pol Morin et contre les tenants de la musique française, qui débute en juin et juillet 1938 avec l'approbation du directeur Jean-Charles Harvey dans le journal Le four et qui se termine dans Les Pamphlets de Valdombre, avec l'appui de Claude-Henri Grignon, en juillet de la même année.
